Rummble with the Pony Peaches @The Next Web this week!

Monday, April 26th, 2010

A few years back before The Next Web became one of the European king of conferences, Rummble helped keep the fun flowing by sponsoring some beers and making the Diggnation fanboys swear allegance to “Rummble” to get their beer. This year we return alongside the clever bods at Waze and with Patricks help we’ve got 7 gorgeous DJs in tow too to keep the night buzzing.

The Next Web is always a fantastic event. With a great mix of European and U.S. influences, it is irreverant while informative and is definetely represents the best about the European start-up scene: a work hard, play hard attitude in an eclectic environment.

We were hoping to launch our new (simpler better!) website at Next Web, but sadly we’ve not been able to get it done yet…but have a beer with us meanwhile and we promise it will be ready for May!
Join Rummble at BRIX, Loup and Wolvenstraat bar until way past midnight. Make sure you join us for a taste of the Amsterdam party atmosphere, kicking off at Wolvenstraat with the Pony Peaches followed up by DJ Leroy Rey at BRIX.

Join us for some fun ... or if you're a great UI/Ux person, get hired! :-)

Join us for some fun ... or if you're a great UI/Ux person talk to us :-)

PS- as you can see from the hatchet job the CEO has done on this graphic, we’re still eager to find a pixel ninja to join the team… apply within!

The Next Web today covered the Techfluff.TV and Kodak Silicon Roundabout series with an interview with our Founder and CEO Andrew.

Bathed in the sun on the awesome Rummble roof terrace (and with Andrew looking pretty darn English and white as a consequence) Kaitlyn from Techfluff interviewed Andrew to learn more about the past present and future of Rummble.

The Rummble Word Spreads!

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

We’re very excited about the Rummble ‘buzz’ going around with the recent launches of Rummble for Windows Phone, Rummble for Android, and Rummble for iPhone v1.5! So, we’d thought we’d share some of the exciting Rummble coverage going on this past week…

Picture 7

Rummble for Android is now in the market and a big highlight was TechCrunch’s article written by Mike Butcher. “Rummble is starting to feed pure ‘check-in-like’ data’ direct from Twitter with its Tremor’s app, potentially making it quite powerful as a way to rate both places and people.” Thanks Mike, we’re excited about these new features, too!

Picture 3

Rummble was also recently featured in VentureBeat.  VentureBeat is popular U.S. blog whose mission is to provide news about innovation; in 2008, the New York Times called it one of the “best blogs on the Web.”  The article featured Rummble for Windows Phone functionality and discussed our ability to personalise content based on a person’s unique trust network. Read the full article here.

Rummble for Windows Phone also grabbed coverage on Mobile Entertainment News, whose total monthly audience across print, online, digital and mobile tops 73,000 people worldwide!  Find the full article here.

Finally, our very own Alex Housley was interviewed with GoMo News!  GoMo is a site dedicated to providing breaking, strategic news in the mobile industry.  Alex gives a live demo of  how easy it is to Rummble on your Windows Phone.  Watch the full length interview here.

We appreciate all the recent coverage, but would like to remind you that your feedback is the one way we can truly improve our apps to better benefit you - so don’t be shy!

Rummble Featured on Reuters

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Picture 6

Rummble was recently featured on Reuters for participation in ‘The Gauntlet’, hosted by The Hatchery and UKTI.

Picture 7Picture 4

The event took place in New York City. The Hatchery is designed as a “tech and interactive process that gives entrepreneurs seven minutes to present their business models to a range of investors, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session”.

With an audience of 100+, Rummble and two other startp-ups (our friends at Huddle.net and Tailgate Techonolgies) were chosen to present from over 120 companies. Supported with flights from British Airways in conjunction with the UKTI, it was great to present Rummble in the heart of New York City and look forward to working with the people we met there.

Rummbles Disappear in the Bermuda Triangle

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Thank goodness, people quite often think Rummble is funky and interesting enough to write about, so we don’t normally blog every mention in any article, newspaper or blog. However, we felt this one was worth a mention as we’re honoured to have made it all the  way out to the Bermunda Royal Gazette! Founded in 1828, it is the only daily newspaper of this beautiful island nation.

Rummble gets a mention in todays Royal Bermuda Gazette (click to see the full article)

Rummble gets a mention in a recent Royal Bermuda Gazette (click to see the full article)

Strangely, the Rummbles on the Island of Bermuda all seem to have disappeared! We fear it maybe the Bermuda Triangle effect, as those on the mainland are still just fine…  Also known as the Devil’s Triangle, it is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean in which a number of aircraft and surface vessels are alleged to have disappeared in mysterious circumstances.. Could this phenomenon have started to affect data on the internet stored about the area??

Total Hotspots launches on Rummble API, going straight to 4th top utility in AppStore

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

thsrankingTotal Hotspots, one of  the leading providers of wifi hotspots data globally has launched its mobile application with Rummble.

Total Hotspots wanted to be able to provide its premium database to iphone users to help them to find pay for or free hotspots anywhere in the world. Normally, they would have had to build an entire application themselves including all the associated location based functionality. Instead, after a chat over beers in the MySpace Bus at FOWA London 2008, THS decided to utilise Rummbles LBS platform and API to rapidly roll out an App.

The wifi finding iphone app launched on Friday 30th January 2009 and was briefly featured on The Gadget Show on C5 that same evening. Since launch, in just 4 days it is now no.4 in the appstore for utilities which is fantastic news!

The Total Hotspots app is the first official use of the Rummble API which will be available for publicly very soon. Meanwhile, if you want to get started using the Rummble API please contact us.

The Total Hotspots app is a branded version of the base Rummble App, with added functionality specifically appropriate for the Total Hotspots use case. Alex Housley (Founder and CEO at Total Hotspots) paid tribute to the Rummble team, including our Design guru Ben Hull saying: “He [Ben] attacks front end visuals with the ferocity of a wild buzzard.” ..thats the sort of impassioned feedback we at Rummble treasure!

You can download the Total Hotspots app from the app store today for just £2.99.

We also had coverage of the launch courteous of the TechCrunch UK, Mike Butcher and the team.
